Nocturnal window shopping in Rome

Rome at night is just as exciting as by day – not only for the nightlife and the ancient sites which are illuminated at night, but also for the chance for some nocturnal window shopping, when the designer stores around Piazza di Spagna,  via Condotti and via del Babuino stage their very own night-time catwalk.

If your other half hates shopping, a romantic stroll in the dark with no opportunity to exercise the credit card is a stress-free way of taking in the designer stores without fear of bankruptcy or divorce.

Dior Sized

Dior gets the message exactly right this season, with a strong fashion statement and the message “We should all be feminists”.  But we are also going to be sweet in sugar pink, zingy in citrus green and pristine in glowing white this spring and summer.

I haven’t shown you the shoes, yet either. Valentino’s window is to die for if you are a shoe lover!  Good things are worth waiting for!

So, get your cross-body bag and your strut on and take your partner by the hand – we’re going window shopping in Rome by night.

Little does he/she suspect, eh? First we’ll start with an innocent stroll down the Spanish Steps as darkness falls over the Eternal City – and then as the lights of the via Condotti fall away into the night, the designer stores are all yours!
